I wanted to write to you on some updates on the home front at EightPoint Financial.
Last week, my wife Rebecka and I had a routine baby appointment, but when we got there the doctors told us the baby was more than ready to join us. In other words, it was time! We went straight to the hospital where Rebecka was induced.
Fast-forward almost two days later and our baby still had not arrived. During those two days, the challenges faced were more than the untrained could solve. This is why we are so grateful to the medical professionals who helped us throughout the process.
The good news is we were able to welcome a healthy baby into the world! One thing we had decided to do was wait until the baby was born to learn the gender. So, it is with great joy that I share the news that the O’Brien family of two is now a family of three with the addition of our new son!
Since Saturday it has been a whirlwind of instruction and education, an opportunity to celebrate, along with challenges that come as new parents.
If this experience has taught me anything over the last few days it is this – You can have the best of plans, but know there will be unexpected events, things that might make you concerned, but if you’re lucky, you’ll have talented and trained professionals professionals by your side to get you through it.
If you’re in the medical field, thank you for your commitment to the Hippocratic oath, for your perseverance in the face of adversity and for your expertise and ability to put knowledge into action to help so many people.
Thank you to all who have sent congratulations, well-wishes, prayers, and thoughts in your conversations with me, emails from you and text messages.
This week - and going into next - I am available by phone or email intermittently. But when not working on your plans and portfolios, I am committed to making sure mom and baby have all the support they need from me.
Looking ahead to April I will resume our phone calls, updates, meetings (Google Meet) and in- person. But for now I just wanted to share with you the good news and thank you for your continued support and trust.
